The Purrfect Plunder

Welcome to the page of The Purrfect Plunder! 

This was developed as a small project for a Game Design and Production course at Arcada University of Applied Sciences. The goal was to build a finished product. We used GameMaker Studio 2, and had the Windy Woods template as our basis. Ultimately, we ended up changing almost everything but for example some of the original sound effects are still in there. Our team of four wishes you enjoy our little project!

Embark on a purr-fectly thrilling adventure in The Purrfect Plunder! Take on the role of Jesse the cat sneaking through the shadows of a pirate ship looking for collecting valuable treasure and familiarizing yourself with the ship’s labyrinthine corridors. But beware! Your feline finesse is put to the ultimate test when you blow up the long sought treasure vault and accidentally create a hole in the ship. Quick reflexes and your memory are your only allies as you navigate through the ship, avoiding the pirates and rising water level, and escaping with your loot before it's too late. Play now and unleash your inner feline pirate in The Purrfect Plunder!

The Purrfect Plunder is a heist adventure, in which gameplay consists of two distinct phases. The first phase is a light metroidvania stealth exploratory phase where the goal is to navigate through the corridors of the ship, find extra loot and plan your escape route. After finding the main treasure, the gameplay transitions into a fast-paced action-packed escape phase where the goal is to make your way back to the exit while picking up the extra loot, avoiding guards and the rising water level.
